Work Environment
As a remote organization utilizing telehealth solutions, our work environment prioritizes flexibility and accessibility. You will leverage technology to conduct therapy sessions and maintain client interactions. The structure allows for a dynamic work-life balance while engaging in professional development and collaboration with a network of mental health professionals. The daily schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, fostering routine and predictability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs, including presenting issues, personal history, and psychosocial factors.
- Develop tailored therapy plans based on individual assessments and best therapeutic practices, ensuring alignment with each client's treatment goals.
- Facilitate engaging therapy sessions through video conferencing tools, employing techniques that cater to various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
- Support clients in identifying personal goals and strategies necessary for achieving successful therapeutic outcomes, regularly checking in on progress and adjusting plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions and progress utilizing secure electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Actively pursue professional development to stay updated on advancements in mental health counseling, integrating new knowledge into practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The ideal candidate will work with a diverse array of clients ranging from children to adults facing various mental health challenges. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and adjustment disorders. The counselor will play a critical role in providing support through different life transitions, ensuring that all clients are treated with empathy and respect.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- A current LCMHC license in Vermont or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience working successfully with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relational skills, fostering trust and rapport with clients.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a remote team.
Preferred Experience
Applicants with a minimum of two years of clinical experience in a counseling or mental health setting are preferred. Experience with telehealth systems and remote therapy practices will be viewed favorably, as well as familiarity with a variety of therapeutic modalities and treatment settings.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
