Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and holistic assessments of new clients to develop individualized treatment plans that address their unique mental health needs.
- Provide therapeutic sessions utilizing evidence-based modalities tailored to the distinct circumstances of clients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Approaches.
- Engage in collaborative goal-setting with clients to create actionable plans that guide their therapeutic journeys toward improved mental wellness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and strategies for client improvement and to cultivate a supportive team dynamic.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse clientele, ranging from individuals experiencing anxiety and depression to couples navigating relationship challenges and families seeking support during transitions. Our clients represent varied backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences, enriching the therapeutic environment and enhancing the counselor's ability to provide tailored care. Strong communication and cultural competence are essential in ensuring that every client feels supported and understood.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
- An active, valid Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) certification in Vermont.
- Demonstrable experience of at least 2 years in mental health counseling, ideally in community health or similar settings.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster trusting relationships with clients.
- A strong ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience utilizing telehealth platforms to provide therapy services, which is increasingly essential in our remote setting.
- Familiarity with culturally responsive practices that address the needs of a diverse client base.
- Previous involvement in community outreach initiatives that promote mental health awareness.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic frameworks and flexibility in adapting them as required by individual client needs.
Compensation and Benefits
