Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for clients to develop effective, individualized therapy plans tailored to their specific needs.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy to diverse client groups, including individuals, couples, and families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to client care, sharing insights and strategies that enhance therapeutic outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) software as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, including workshops and training, to stay informed about the latest trends and research in mental health.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our LPCs work with a varied client base, addressing a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. Many of our clients face unique challenges due to socioeconomic barriers, making our services vital in promoting their mental well-being and social adjustment.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Possession of an active and unrestricted Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Michigan.
- A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating a solid foundation in therapeutic practices.
- Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards relevant to the field of counseling.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to connect with clients from various backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
- Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team, contributing to comprehensive client care.
- Familiarity with EMR software and telehealth technologies will be advantageous in maximizing client interaction quality.
