Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our School Mental Health Team at a prominent private school located in Brattleboro, Vermont. Work Environment
This role operates in a remote work setting, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a strong connection to our school community. Your schedule will primarily involve Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends to ensure comprehensive mental health service coverage. As part of your responsibilities, you may also be expected to participate in on-call availability to support urgent mental health situations as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, utilizing clinical interview techniques, standardized assessment tools, and consideration of personal history and presenting concerns.
Collaboratively develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on alleviating mental health challenges, enhancing emotional well-being, and facilitating successful integration into the school environment.
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy, addressing various mental health disorders.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at cultivating personal growth, emotional regulation, and the development of effective coping strategies among students.
Engage with fellow mental health professionals—psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurse practitioners—ensuring coordinated, holistic care for students.
Implement crisis intervention measures during mental health emergencies, applying de-escalation techniques and making timely referrals for higher-level care when necessary.
Deliver psychoeducation to students and their families, equipping them with the knowledge to understand mental health conditions, recognize treatment options, and access available community resources.
Maintain precise documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and comply with all legal and ethical standards regarding patient privacy and care.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development activities to further your knowledge and promote team collaboration.
Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines that govern mental health practices within educational settings.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position primarily serves a vibrant student population that represents various backgrounds, cultures, and mental health needs. You will be responsible for implementing strategies that not only address immediate concerns but also promote long-term emotional resilience and academic success, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student well-being.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
A current and valid LICSW license in the state of Vermont is essential for this role.
A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is required, ideally in a mental health or educational context that showcases your ability to engage with young populations.
In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care approaches is necessary.
Strong proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, accurately diagnosing conditions, and crafting treatment plans suited to individual student needs.
Experience delivering both individual and group therapy using a variety of therapeutic modalities is crucial.
Exceptional crisis intervention skills alongside the capacity to maintain composure in high-stress scenarios are vital.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience working within a school environment or in collaboration with educational teams is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management and student information systems is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
