Mental Harbor Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This full-time, remote position offers the opportunity to provide essential mental health services to diverse populations while working collaboratively with a supportive healthcare network. The successful candidate will earn an annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, with the potential for a sign-on bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments through preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive information on clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
• Document all case details meticulously, tracking progress from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
• Create personalized intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring treatment approaches are tailored to specific needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe environment.
• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, becoming a key resource for accountability and support.
• Collaborate closely with medical professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to integrate care and coordinate interventions effectively.
• Provide referrals and follow-ups with psychiatric services for clients needing additional care, ensuring communication between all parties involved.
• Identify and mitigate potential barriers to recovery, providing guidance and support to clients and their families throughout the therapeutic process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will work with a diverse client population, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health disorders. Our holistic approach to treatment recognizes the importance of addressing physical health conditions alongside mental health, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of each client's needs.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective case documentation and rapport-building with clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience providing counseling services in a mental health setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to streamline documentation and client management.
• Understanding of various mental health conditions, including co-occurring disorders and addiction issues, providing comprehensive support across a range of challenges.
• Knowledge of the latest evidence-based practices in psychotherapy, along with familiarity with guidelines set by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
