Work Environment
This position is primarily remote, operating within a community health clinic framework, designed to offer flexible work settings to accommodate a work-life balance. Our clinic's hours are from 7 am to 10 pm seven days a week, allowing for a schedule tailored to your individual needs and preferences. You will be part of a collaborative team striving to ensure comprehensive mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's trauma history, strengths, and needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience building, and wellness.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
- Deliver impactful individual and group therapy sessions that foster healing and support the development of adaptive coping strategies.
- Collaborate rigorously with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to patient care.
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency support to patients experiencing trauma-related crises.
- Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping techniques, and community resources.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with both legal and ethical standards.
- Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development focused on trauma-informed care.
- Remain informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to elevate the quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Divine & Associates, you will work primarily with children, adolescents, and their families experiencing various trauma-related issues. Our clinic serves a motivated patient population that is eager to engage in the therapeutic process. Your understanding of trauma and resilience will be paramount in fostering healing, growth, and hope in their lives.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut is essential.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Past engagement with trauma-informed therapies, including experience in delivering TF-CBT or EMDR techniques.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range between USD 70,000 and 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
