The Opportunity
The WashU Medicine Department of Anesthesiology offers anesthesiologists the opportunity to practice and build a rewarding career across a large and diverse clinical enterprise while caring for patients with a broad range of medical and surgical complexity.
Our physicians provide anesthesiology, pain management, perioperative and critical care throughout the WashU Medicine and BJC HealthCare clinical network. Our clinical footprint includes Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Progress West Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and numerous additional surgical centers, procedural locations, clinics and intensive care units throughout the St. Louis and Missouri region.
Physicians work collaboratively with CRNAs, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, nurses, surgeons and other members of multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Academic faculty appointments are available at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor levels within the medical school, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. For physicians seeking a community-based practice model, WashU Medicine also offers non-faculty clinical opportunities within our broader anesthesiology practice. We offer flexible schedules, full-time, part-time and per diem roles.
